Romsey residents may have already received a letter from the Macedon Ranges Shire Council Planning and Development (signed by Rick Traficante – Manager Planning and Development).
Residents should be aware that there are General Changes to Romsey under Amendment C66.
These planning controls include:
a) Amends clause 21.07 of the scheme to include town specific policy on Romsey
b) Rezones 62 hectares of land on the southern edge of the town from RURAL LIVING to RESIDENTIAL 1. This area is expected to accommodate around 410 additional dwellings over 15 years.
c) Rezones 21 hectares of land at 2598 Melbourne-Lancefiled Road from FARMING ZONE to BUSINESS 4 and INDUSTRIAL 1.
d) Rezones the MITCHELL Court industrial area from INDUSTRIAL 1 to INDUSTRIAL 3 ZONE.
e) Rezones the area around STUARTFILED Ave, BENTLEY and DOWIE Courts from RESIDENTIAL 1 to LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL ZONE.
f) Rezones land at 51-79 Main Street from BUSINESS 4 ZONE and RESIDENTIAL 1 ZONE to BUSINESS 1 ZONE.
g) Makes various changes to Development Plan Overlays in Romsey.
h) Applies to new Design and Development Overlay 16 to existing and proposed residential areas as identified in the Romsey Residential Character Study. This will apply to new controls on infill development specifically tailored to Romsey.
