Local artist Peter Sanders, will give an illustrated talk about Burke & Wills and their ill-fated journey through Victoria. As you may be aware, the Expedition Party stopped in Lancefield on the evening of 23 August and in Baynton on 24 August 1860. We will learn more about their trip, almost 161 years later, when we hear Peter talk about his exploration of every campsite made by Burke & Wills, and see his paintings commemorating their trip.
Date: Sunday 20th June 2021.
Time: 2 pm to 4 pm
Venue: Lancefield Mechanics’ Institute Annexe – 3435 High Street Lancefield
The cost of the afternoon event is $25.00 per head which includes refreshments (food and wine/beer/soft drink) as well as this fascinating talk.
For catering purposes, please RSVP to Fay Woodhouse on 0427 042 753 or Shirley Kishere on 0402 248 540 by Friday 18 June.
