GRAAP Fund Raising Thermometer HELP BUILD OUR PARK SUPPORT REQUIRED
Let’s support this wonderful asset
Following on from our public meeting held on 16 May 2011, regarding the old primary school site, and your interest and support in retaining this site for public open space, I am writing to advise you of progress to date.
You may have seen in the Free Press newspaper dated 16 December 2011, that the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) has decided that the site has “significant public land values including Community Interest and Use and Heritage and is accordingly assessed as public land at this point in time”. This has been confirmed in a letter to GRAAP, dated 17 October 2011.
At the public meeting, GRAAP encouraged attendees and the local community to support the retention of the land for public open space by writing to various members of parliament (MP) and the Macedon Ranges Shire Council (MRSC). GRAAP is strongly seeking your support to continue with our efforts to secure the land.
GRAAP has been working on this project for over 3 years and we believe it is only through persistent and ongoing communication with MPs and MRSC that this issue will be finalised. You may have sent an email or letter regarding this issue last year and you may or may not have received a response.
We are requesting that you please contact MPs and MRSC staff and Councillors, as per the attached list, and seek their feedback on the progress of the retention of the land and a timeline for a decision.
We would appreciate if you could send a copy of your correspondence to GRAAP also, via either email to GRAAP@exemail.com.au or PO Box 53, Romsey, 3434.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 0428 928 908 or email firstname.lastname@example.org .
